Maureen attended New York Law School and graduated summa cum laude in 1999. With more than 15 years experience, Maureen primarily focuses her practice on litigating employment law, breach of contract, construction and business torts claims for individuals, small business, and corporations. She has expanded her practice to include non-litigation needs, such as, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and real estate transactions. More recently, she is a mediator. Before becoming a licensed attorney, Maureen was a police officer for the New York City Police Department first working as a housing police officer covering Harlem, Spanish Harlem, and Inwood in northern Manhattan and then teaching law in the Police Academy to police recruits. Maureen moved on to the Police Department’s Legal Bureau before retiring.
Maureen Godfrey is admitted to practice law before the state courts of New York and Connecticut and the federal courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, as well as, the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association.
